What if?

Our Humble Beginnings

What if we could build a homegrown, Tanzanian brand that resonates with the world's need for natural and healthy foods? This was the first question our founders asked. 2020 was a year of research into the Tanzanian superfoods industry and how to develop a sustainable, transparent, and eco-friendly supply chain.

After 8 months of research, A.LE & TOM was born. Our country, Tanzania, is vast, full of preserved ecosystems home to bees that create unique honeys. At A.LE & TOM, we want to bring the unique natural honeys of Tanzania to the world.

For a sustainable future

Partnerships with local, small-scale beekeepers are vital to A.LE & TOM. Our focus in 2022 was to build sustainable, long-term relationships with the small-scale beekeepers and communities who we work alongside to source our honey. To date, A.LE & TOM is working in 3 communities and supports more than 200 beekeepers.

In 2023, A.LE & TOM launched 2 new monofloral raw honey varieties and established the brand as a leader in variety honey in Tanzania. In the same year, preparations to launch the brand into the United States and global market began. A sister company in the United States was incorporated in August of 2023 with the goal of launching in 2024.

A new journey

Transcending borders

2024 marked our launch into the US market. All-natural, raw honey, created by wild bees in rural Tanzania, is packed in our state-of-art facility in Dar es Salaam and shipped to the United States, ready for distribution.
